Who
makes QuikCards?
Chris
(NØNAZ) and Darryl (W5VK) Evans of Spring Hill,
KS started QuikCards in 2002. Chris and Darryl are "long-time"
hams. Chris worked with and taught word production and
computer graphics for over 30 years. Darryl is an Extra
Class ham and has participated in most aspects of ham
radio. He designed his first QSL card in the 70's and
upon retirement, he and Chris started QuikCards. Matt
(KBØITG) assists with business mail and some
hamfests.
Why
QuikCards?
There
are several very good QSL printers but most specialize
in printing larger quantities (500 to 1,000+ cards).
Many hams do not use that many cards in a year and wind
up throwing the unused cards away when they change calls,
addresses, emails, etc. QuikCards will print ANY NUMBER
of cards (we've printed as few as 50 and as many as
400) you request, but we specialize in small quantities,
usually 100 or less. If you see us at a hamfest, we
will print your cards "on the spot" and you
can usually take them home with you the same day.
What
kind of cards do you print?
We
have THREE levels of QSL/Eyeball cards available.
Standard
- There are several different QSL and Eyeball card styles
laser printed with black ink on a choice of six different
colors of card stock. Cost of QSLs is $9.25 plus shipping per 100 cards
plus $5.00 shipping. Cost of Eyeball cards is $9.00 per
100 cards plus $2 shipping.
Full
Color - There are several different QSL and
Eyeball styles laser and inkjet printed on a choice
of three different card stocks including a glossy finish.
QSL cost is $25 per hundred plus $3 shipping. Glossy
finish is $5 extra. Eyeball cost is $12 per hundred
plus $2 shipping. Glossy finish is $2 extra.
Custom - Each custom card is designed
and printed according to the customer's requirements.
You tell us what you want, provide any media (pictures/artwork,
etc), and we design your card according to your instructions.
We provide you with a "proof" of your card
(at no charge), usually by email, and when we get your
OK we print and ship your cards. Cost includes a "one
time" set up fee of approximately $10 plus printing
costs of $20 to $50/100 cards plus $3 shipping. Variables
include ink coverage, single or double-sided, and plain
or glossy paper.
On
my custom card, can I use a picture taken with my digital
camera?
Yes,
a high resolution digital file (usually jpeg or tif)
works best. Some low resolution digital pictures look
good on your computer but will look "grainy"
on your QSL card. Call us at 913-302-9731 if you have
questions.
Can
I have logos like ARRL, MARS, QCWA, etc., placed on my
card?
Yes,
we have nearly all the ham logos. If you ask for one
we do not have and you can send it to us (by email
attachment or snail mail), we will put it on your
card. All logos are printed on the card at no additional
cost.
Can
I use copyrighted material on my card?
You
must present written permission from the copyright owner
for us to use the material on your card.
When
I request a refill set of cards can I make changes in
my card?
After
your initial order, we have your information in our
database (we do not share this info with anyone else)
and can reprint a new order usually within 48 hours.
If your card style stays the same, there are no additional
charges for changes; i.e. new call, address, email,
additional icons, etc. All are included at the regular
price of your cards.
Can
I have a favorite old QSL card duplicated?
Some
cards can be scanned and duplicated and look OK, some
do not. We will be glad to take a look at any card you
send us and see if it can be duplicated. This usually
costs about the same as ordering a custom card.
Can
you print cards for an SWL?
Yes,
we have printed cards for SWLs and Beacon stations.
How
may I pay for my cards?
We
accept PayPal, personal check or money order. As soon as we
have credit card capability, we will post
it on the home page.
